HOW DO I QUALIFY FOR THE PROFESSIONAL LEARNING LEADER CLASSIFICATION? AND HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO "CATEGORY A AND B"
We have recently had a number of enquiries from members in regard to 'Category A and B' payments and the recent introduction of the Professional Learning Leader I and II Allowance.
Please find below page 45 of the "Catholic Education Salaries, Allowances and Conditions Agreement 2005" which includes subclause (viii) Transition.
"During the transition year of 2006 those employees who were receiving a Category A or B allowance and exercising a relevant role can continue to exercise their roles and receive the Category A or B allowance.
(viii) Transition:
Transition arrangements to allow teachers currently accessing over-Agreement payments (Category A and Category B) to move to the PLL categories will be as follows:
(1)Eligible employees can record professional learning and apply for Professional Learning Leader (i and II) in 2006.
(2)During 2006 teachers who are eligible for Category A and B can continue to exercise their roles and receive the allowance as allocated under Category A and B guidelines.
(3)By 2007, Professional Learning Leader I and II will be fully implemented and Category A and B will be discontinued.
(ix) Allowance

(2)Professional Learning Leader II (PLL II) =$2,744"
