4.1% Salary Increase and NO INCREASE in union subs

On 19th May the Hearing for the 2006 salary increase was held in the Tasmanian Industrial Commission.
By the time members read this all principals and pay persons/bursars should have been notified that the increase in salaries was agreed upon and payable from the first full pay in April. The incrased salaries and back pay will be processed at each school as soon as reasonably practicable.
Members please note that your union subs will not be increased by 4.1% - or at all.
The Committee of Management has worked hard to contain costs; notwithstanding that union staff will also receive the 4.1% salary increase.
Members who go up into a new payment category; eg from the $45,000 - $50,000 bracket to the $50,000 - $55,000 bracket will pay slightly higher subs but this will very little compared to the amount of extra salary received.
